The Story Behind My Kitchen Table

11 years ago I arrived in Denver, Colorado, from Mexico, bringing with me something that had always been part of my life: a love of cooking and gathering my family around the table.

As a Mexican woman, I grew up understanding that food is so much more than nourishment. It's culture, memories, family, tradition, and above all, flavor.

Here in Denver, while I adapted to a new city and built my life, I kept doing what I'd always done: cooking at home, every afternoon, for my family.

And it was right there, in my own kitchen, where it all began.

One night, after spending almost an hour preparing a special meal, I grabbed a generic jar of chili flakes from my pantry and added it to the dish, hoping for that touch of flavor I was searching for.

But nothing happened.

There was no aroma to whet the appetite. No intense flavor. No hint of heat that transforms a meal.

Just lifeless flakes.

And then I asked myself:

Why should we settle for spices that don't even taste or smell the way they should?

I got tired of opening jars that had been sitting who-knows-how-long on a shelf, hoping to find flavor and finding very little.

I'm not a classically trained chef. I'm a Mexican woman, a home cook, a homemaker and mother, and I know the value of preparing a good meal for the people you love.

I firmly believe that cooking at home doesn't have to mean making the same thing over and over, or settling for boring meals.

I wanted spices with color, aroma, texture, and character for my own table.

I couldn't find them.

So I decided to create them.

And that's how Casa Flake was born.

It wasn't born in a big factory or behind a desk.

It was born right here, in my kitchen, in Denver.

It was born out of a real need and my desire to bring something better to my family's table.

From My Kitchen in Denver to Your Table

My inspiration comes from my Mexican roots, but Casa Flake isn't made only for Mexican food.

It's made for anyone who loves to cook and wants to turn an everyday meal into something special.

Because a good spice can change everything.

It can turn simple eggs into a breakfast full of personality. It can transform vegetables into the side dish everyone wants seconds of. It can bring chicken, shrimp, meat, or even simple potatoes to life.

You don't need to be a chef to cook with flavor.

You just need ingredients that live up to your cooking.

In Search of Quality

From the start, I understood that Casa Flake had to be so much more than a pretty jar.

If I was going to put my name and my passion into a product that would enter other families' kitchens, I had to seek out quality from the source.

That's why I spent time researching suppliers, ingredients, and processes, looking for high-quality options and working with partners who shared my commitment to good sourcing standards.

I also spent months testing and adjusting blends.

More heat doesn't always mean more flavor.

I wanted to find that sweet spot where fire, aroma, and flavor work together — not hiding the food, but helping it shine.

Because I believe home cooks deserve the same passion for flavor found in the best kitchens.

A Revolution That Starts at Home

Casa Flake is more than a collection of spices.

It's my way of saying:

"We don't have to settle for food without flavor."

I want to inspire families to fall back in love with cooking. To experiment. To try something different. To open a jar and instantly feel the aroma of a truly good spice. To sit around the table and say:

"This is delicious!"

As a woman and entrepreneur, I'm building Casa Flake with the same dedication I've brought to cooking for my own family all these years.

Every jar represents a piece of my story: Mexico, my new life in Denver, my love of cooking, and my desire to share something I truly enjoy with other families.
